F-22A -Lightning II-

F-22A Raptor livery imitating its direct predecessor, the YF-22 Lightning II ATF demonstrator. Comes in blank and Trigger marking variants for skin slots 1-6.

This is a two-tone paint scheme for the F-22A Raptor imitating its progenitor. (Yes, this skin was also done before. I know because I used to use it. At least the tail markings will differentiate this version, right?)

For the Advanced Tactical Fighter competition, Lockheed Martin, Boeing and General Dynamics submitted a joint proposal that would later evolve into the Raptor air superiority fighter. The YF-22, as it was known, was painted like contemporary F-16 Fighting Falcons in the two tone "Hill Gray" scheme. (i'm noticing a trend...)

Mage squadron's markings were based off of fictitious "WA" Nellis AFB markings painted on a static display YF-22. Strider squadron, on the other hand, took a little bit of inspiration from "flagship" F-15s flown by the US ANG. The rudder flash is pretty much original though.

While Mage's marking style is rather dull, I kinda like the idea of Trigger starting the Lighthouse war as a rookie undecorated pilot, flying dull "line bird"-style aircraft at first and having to "earn" the bright decorations.

  As with my previous skins, textures use BC7 compression with mipmaps disabled to improve in-game quality. Let me know what you think and if you encounter any bugs.

  INSTALLATION:

  Place the files you want to use in the AC7 game directory as follows:

  ACE COMBAT 7\Game\Content\Paks\~mods\

  If no ~mods folder is present then you can create one there.
