After the incident at Anchorhead Bay with Mimic Squadron during the Lighthouse War, post-war Osea called upon the IUN to establish new international laws regarding airborne mercenary units, now requiring an "MREG" number, that is: Mercenary REGistration number, on all irregular military aircraft. This is much like civilian aircraft registration, but more clearly distinct from regular military and civilian aircraft types, to avoid confusion. Osea went even further and outlawed the operation of mercenary aircraft operating from Osean soil or in Osean airspace, as they considered mercenary air units as a threat to peace and homeland security.

That being said, it doesn't mean that mercs don't still give Osea headaches. In 2022, General Resource Guardian Mercenaries began raiding Selatapura harbor, haphazardly attacking shipments without warning. The OFS Raptor of Osea's 3rd Carrier Strike Group has been sent to assist the Republic of Selatapura Air Force in defending the port from such raids.

Butterfly Team flies the first aircraft in Strangereal to incorporate Electro-Neuron Synapse Interface (or ENSI) COFFIN systems into their aircraft. Their signature QF-22B is a precursor to what will become the F-22C Raptor II in the 2040s.
