Description

Just a simple third-person camera mod with configurable hotkeys.

DLL version only: lets the character turn independently while movement still follows the screen direction.

Installation instructions

Install UE4SS for Abiotic Factor v3. 0. 1-1012-gc838a8ac(only tested on this version) first.

put the mod folder(AbioticThirdPersonCameraDll or AbioticThirdPersonCameraLua) inside \AbioticFactor\AbioticFactor\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods

Main features

Press F9 to turn the third-person camera on or off.

Hotkeys can be changed in config.ini.

Edit the key on the right side, then restart the game.

Examples: F9, Ctrl+F6, Ctrl+Alt+F8

Supported modifiers: Ctrl, Alt, Shift

Recommended safe numpad keys: Num_Zero to Num_Five

If config.ini is missing, the mod will automatically generate a new default config.ini the next time it starts.

For the DLL version, restart the game after editing config.ini.

For the Lua version, restart the game or hot-reload UE4SS Lua mods after editing config.ini.

Some UE4SS built-in hotkeys are blocked by this mod and cannot be used:

Ctrl+R, Ctrl+O, Ctrl+J, Ctrl+H, Ctrl+Y,

Ctrl+Num_Six, Ctrl+Num_Seven, Ctrl+Num_Eight, Ctrl+Num_Nine,

F10, Tilde, Grave, Backtick, OEM_Three.

If one of these keys is used in config.ini, the mod will reject it and fall back to the default hotkey for that action.

Use Ctrl to increase a value, and Alt to decrease it:

Ctrl+F6 / Alt+F6: move the camera farther away or closer.

Ctrl+F7 / Alt+F7: move the camera more to the side or back toward the center.

Ctrl+F8 / Alt+F8: move the camera higher or lower.

Reset hotkeys:

Ctrl+Alt+F6: reset camera distance.

Ctrl+Alt+F7: reset side offset.

Ctrl+Alt+F8: reset camera height.

Ctrl+Alt+F9: reset all values back to the default values.

Default Values

Camera distance: 100

Side offset: 30

Camera height: 40

If the camera feels too close or too far, adjust F6.

If the character is too far left or right on screen, adjust F7.

If the camera feels too low or too high, adjust F8.

DLL version only

The DLL version decouples the character facing direction from the actual movement direction.

This means the character can turn while movement still follows the screen direction.

Ctrl+F5 / Alt+F5: increase or decrease the character facing offset degree.

Ctrl+Alt+F5: reset the character facing offset to 0.

My suggestion is: Don't set the camera too far away so as to avoid the camera colliding with too many objects.
