📋 About This Mod
# Player Glow Light - Abiotic Factor Mod
## Description
A simple utility mod that adds a glowing "shield-like" effect around your player character. This glow acts as a light source, illuminating dark areas of the facility!
Perfect for exploring those pitch-black corridors without wasting battery on flashlights.
## How It Works
When activated, the mod creates a glowing aura around your character that looks like an energy shield. This glow effect illuminates the surrounding area, making it easier to see in dark places.
## Controls
| Key | Action |
|-----|--------|
| F4 | Toggle Glow (press twice to activate) |
### To Turn ON:
Press F4 twice - the glow light will appear around your character
### To Turn OFF:
Leave and rejoin the game or Switch your weapons it will fix itself - there is currently no way to turn off the glow in-game

- Steam: `steamapps\common\Abiotic Factor\AbioticFactor\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\`
- Game Pass: `Abiotic Factor\Content\AbioticFactor\Binaries\WinGDK\ue4ss\Mods\`
3. Copy the mod files into that folder into the mods folder
4. Your folder structure should look like:
└── PlayerGlowLight/
├── enabled.txt
└── Scripts/
└── main.lua
5. Launch the game!
1. Load into a game
2. Press F4 twice to activate the glow
3. Enjoy the light!
4. To turn off, leave and rejoin the game to fully fix it or Just switch weapons will fix it
## Known Limitations
- Must press F4 twice to activate the glow effect
- Cannot turn off in-game - must leave and rejoin to disable or Switch weapons
- Cannot adjust brightness - the glow intensity is fixed Im looking into this to see what i can do
- The effect is a visual quirk in how the game handles mesh visibility
## Compatibility
- Game Version: Should work with any version of Abiotic Factor
- Other Mods: Should be compatible with most mods
- Multiplayer: Both players will need to install it in both side and it's kind of broken will be looking into it and fixing stuff as I make more mods as I go and learn this is my first mod so please be patients with me - use at your own risk
- Single Player Should work good if your playing single player.
Q: Why do I need to press F4 twice?
A: The first press changes the visibility state, the second press triggers the glow effect. It's just how the game's rendering system works.
Q: Why can't I turn it off?
A: The glow effect changes something in the game's rendering that we can't easily reset. Rejoining the game reloads your character fresh or even switching weapons works to.
Q: What causes the glow?
A: Honestly, we're not 100% sure! It appears to be an unintended effect from toggling mesh visibility. The result looks like an energy shield around the player that emits light.
Q: Will this get me banned in multiplayer?
A: This is a client-side visual mod. However, always use mods at your own risk in multiplayer games.
