Loitering Leyak - Containment Break Update

Update: LoiteringLeyakInOffices.zip  -- Doing a trial update of letting the Leyak loose in offices at the start of the game. Why leave all the fun for Labs?  The Leyak will also now taunt the player occasionally with nearby Leyak sounds, but not always actually chase/stalk the player.  Might make this the default mod feature-set going forwards after some more testing. See the Miscellaneous Files section for LoiteringLeyakInOffices.zip.

Main Description

Makes the Leyak much more persistent, following the player across loading zones and barriers, and re-starting the hunt if the player has not put enough distance between them. Adds a few new twists to the Leyak's behavior that should surprise your players.

The default config will not activate these new behaviors until players have collected 4 essence and repaired the X-RAY machine in labs, to ensure the players have had a chance to build the hand-held X-RAY lamps. However this is configurable as well, and hosts and server admins can enable this right out of the gate if they prefer.

And just for fun, there is a [leyak_use_random_voice] setting where hosts can specify a list of dialog sound files from base game to be spoken by the Leyak at random intervals.

See the file named [config_leyak.lua] inside the mod folder for a full explanation of each new setting.

This mod is intended to be installed by the Host Player running UE4SS, or on a Dedicated Server install running UE4SS.

Note that I have not tested cross-play functionality, but I hope it will work for all players.

The entire AbioticFactor-Player-Difficulty-Sliders mod folder should be placed into the players /ue4ss/Mods folder of your AbioticFactor installation.

i.e Windows:

Chat Commands

Text Chat Commands to allow admins to adjust some settings in-game to their liking using the game's built-in text chat on-the-fly.

This mod provides a small number of commands via in-game chat box that can configure some settings in real time

without having to edit the config_leyak.lua and reboot the game server.

To use any of these text chat commands, the hosts/server-admin will need to modify the config_admin.lua file

that comes with this mod and add in their own display name (as it would appear in-game) and their SteamID/GameTag/etc.

The mod uses name/id to differentiate from regular players sending messages over chat.

Additionally, if admin_messages_enabled is true in the config_leyak.lua file, the mod will send Leyak status messages back

to the valid admin using the text chat box. i.e when a new Leyak is spawned, what behavior mode the Leyak is in, who it is stalking, etc.
