📋 About This Mod
WHAT IS ASHBORNE?
OR THE BETTER QUESTION..
WHAT IS ASHBORNE GOING TO BE?
Survival's not enough anymore..
Ashborne rebuilds 7 Days to Die around 4 fully custom classes:
A heavy-armor melee tank
A stealth sniper
A base-defense automation specialist
And a combat medic
Each built around one unique custom weapon,
layered on top of a 15-skill "level by doing" progression system,
and an in-game lore-collection archive.
This isn't a loot table reshuffle!!
It's the start of a whole new game living inside 7DTD's bones.

]24 real lore fragments to find and read, across 3 chapters:
[]Biological Analysis (6 fragments) — infected classification, mutation data[/]
[]The Watchers (9 fragments) — who they are, what they're waiting for, why they never attack[/]
[]Hostile Entities (9 fragments) — combat intel on Ashborne's mutated threats[/]

[]Fragments drop from loot around the world (bookcases, book piles, crackabook shelves), and now also have a real chance to drop from Watcher encounters specifically.[/]
[]New hotkey: press J to open the Archive directly.[/]
[]Unread fragments show locked until you actually find them — no more reading one book and unlocking the whole shelf.[/]
[]4 more chapters (World Events, Forgotten Tech, Dragon Records, Ash Gate Protocol) are visible in the index as coming soon — more Archive content in a future update.[/]
⚔️ Two new starter weapons — Vanguard & Deadeye[/]
[]
]Vanguard — Collapse Protocol + Collapse Charges. Heavy melee tool; normal swings don't touch your charge supply, but the charged power attack consumes one for a real damage spike (~+50% entity damage, ~+150% block damage).[/]
[]Deadeye — Longshotta + Matchbolt ammunition. A rifle/crossbow hybrid built for deliberate, high-value precision shots — powder-assisted bolts that hit harder than a normal quarrel with a quieter report than a rifle.[/]
Both come with a full matching starter kit (armor, food, challenge manifest). Mastermind's Triarch Field Rig and Warden's Lifelyin were built this cycle too — full weapon, ammo, the Rig's drone-deployment ability, recipes, and starter kits were all functional — but got pulled from this release over a last-mile visual issue on Lifelyin's held-model orientation that needed a same-day model re-export we couldn't land before ship. Mastermind and Warden are back on their original starter kits for this version; both new weapons return properly finished next update.🎯 New skill tab: General CombatIf your class tree maxes out way too fast with nothing left to spend points on — this is the fix. A brand-new, class-agnostic skill tab with 23 perks and up to 115 skill points worth of real, long-term investment. Vitality, Combat Tempo, Survival Utility:[/]

Ashborne Overhaul is an alpha-stage modpack for 7 Days to Die that adds four custom classes—heavy melee tank, stealth sniper, base-defense automation, and combat medic—each with a unique weapon and a 15-skill 'level by doing' progression system. It's a niche overhaul with early support (4 endorsements) but shows promise for players seeking structured class-based gameplay.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Fresh class-based approach with four distinct playstyles (tank, sniper, automation, medic).
- Custom weapons per class add unique flavor and build identity.
- Level-by-doing progression encourages active gameplay rather than passive grinding.
⚠️ Cons
- Early alpha (v0.0.3) with only 4 endorsements—expect bugs and incomplete features.
- Small mod with limited community feedback; balance and polish are unproven.
- May conflict with other overhauls that alter progression or skills.
This is for 7 Days to Die players who want a structured class system and are willing to test an early-stage mod. If you enjoy role-playing specific roles like a tank or medic, or like progression that rewards actual use, this could be a fun experiment. But if you prefer stable, fully-featured overhauls, wait for more updates.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Pick a class that matches your preferred playstyle—each has a unique weapon and skill tree.
- Focus on using your class weapon to level up the associated skills faster.
- Since it's an alpha, test each class in a creative world to see which fits before committing to a survival run.
